In addition to launching the iPad Air, Apple today introduced the new iPad mini with Retina display, an upgraded version of the diminutive tablet computer selling for a little more than before.

The new iPad mini reportedly brings all the pixels from the 9.7-inch iPad to a 7.9-inch screen, and packs the same power-efficient A7 chip found in the iPhone 5s and iPad Air.

Apple says, “Images are crisp, text is crystal clear, movies play at full 1080p HD-resolution and the 475,000 apps designed specifically for iPad work automatically.”

The iPad mini also offers faster wireless capabilities and expanded LTE cellular connectivity.

New and improved cameras can also be found on the iPad mini with Retina display, and the price is now $399 (€280). The new iPad mini will become available on November 1 in Silver (and White front) and Space Gray (and Black front).
